ClassX in 2012,

Hey guys, I know we haven’t posted in forever, lots of news we’ve been hard at work on a new album, so far we’ve got 4 of tracks down in the studio looking to do 5 more in the coming months. Aside from that the Gongshow Hockey videos that featured our songs and blew up on Youtube are being taken to NHL Network on a show called “Gongshow Hockey Shacks”, which will be featuring the “Cribs” of NHL all-stars, such as the pilots featuring DEREK ROY [Buffalo Sabres], as well as BOBBY RYAN [Anaheim Might Ducks] — Videos can be seen below —

Just when we thought 2011 couldn’t end up better, we found out that we’ve made it into the Top 30 Finalists in the MOArtist competition to get signed to EMI RECORDS!!!! We literally have a 1/30 shot of making our dream a reality right now! AND even if we don’t win, we’ve already won a spot on an EMI Compilation CD, and exclusive HMV Digital Feature, digital distribution through EMI, and they are currently shopping our tunes to tv shows, commercials, and movies! THANK YOU for helping us get here guys, you are the best fans we could ask for. Couldn’t be more stoked going into the new year. Were currently sitting 7th/30, and we could really use some help. AUGUST UPDATE!

Hey everyone,

I know its been awhile just wanted to take some time and update the tumblr following,

We have been playing out of town quite a bit these days, we rocked El Mocombo in Toronto with Dean Lickyer, Stuck on Planet Earth and The Set a few weeks back and it was awesome. It was great to play in a venue with such a rich history, this place has hosted The Rolling Stones, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix and many, many, many more..including one of our favorites a few years back, JET!
On top of this we rocked a free two hour show in our hometown at The Dugout which turned out to be a lot of fun…played originals, covers and got to see a lot of familiar faces we’ve been missing!

On wednesday we played a show at the Crofoot in Pontiac that 89X put on, and got to play with Redlight Kings, who currently are rocking on the radio 24/7 with their single “Old Man” (sampled from Neil Young)…if you haven’t heard them.. check em out. Their new single Something for The Pain is great too.

This saturday is going to be a big event. As many of you know we were featured in Gongshow Hockeys Off-Season Video.. with our hockey version of Young & Reckless we custom made for them! The video was so successful and they got such a great response that they are bringing us up to play a party for them in Ottawa this weekend and Derek Roy of the Buffalo Sabres will be the guest bartender. On top of that, they just made a new video of Derek Roy’s crib for their series “Gongshow Hockey Shacks” and used two of our tunes!

THE CLASSIX UPDATE

Guys! So much stuff going on right now, its gonna be hard to fit in one update..

We’ve been so busy playing shows, writing, recording, and working we haven’t had much time to do updates! We apologize but lots of great stuff going on!

We just found out we will be playing live on Much Music this summer as part of a contest, which we just got word about!
On top of that we are playing with a band called Dean Lickyer (from muchmusic’s disband.. also managed by Gene Simmons of Kiss) at El Mocombo in Toronto on July 29! 19+, $10. Its gonna sell out so get your tickets fast!

And on top of all that, we just went in the studio and finished up 4 tracks to put out a copy of Live What You Love with 4 new tunes (which can be purchased as singles if you already have the entire album)… one which was a remake of “Young & Reckless” for a hockey company, Gongshow Gear, who deal with a lot of players in the NHL, OHL and AHL. These guys are great and the video turned out awesome and its already made its way to the #1 Most viewed Sports video of the week OVERNIGHT.

Check it out and help us make it an even bigger success by re-posting it!

Live What You Love update

Hey everyone, we’ve been meaning to send out this message for awhile but we have been extremely busy spending lots of time everyday in the studio…We wanted to apologize for the lack of video updates, and explain what we’ve decided to do moving forward.

We are going to be going back to regular video updates, and we will try to be doing 1-2 a week because doing 7 a week is extremely hard given how busy we are, and we do not want to start posting videos, just to have a video posted. We want to continue coming out with quality material for everyone to enjoy, and prevent polluting our youtube with sub-par updates!

That being said, Live What You Love 365 did exactly what we wanted, it got other people thinking about “Live What You Love” as you could see by the fan posts i blogged about. We really just wanted to promote that idea along with the band, and we did for that month! We may do a month of videos everyday again when things slow, but right now we have a lot of upcoming shows!

Day 28 - New Music Report Card (episode 1)

Hey everyone,

Lots of great stuff has happened since the first week of April when we started this blog, people have been promoting our stuff in a variety of ways from a fan using “Live What You Love” in a video for a class project ..multiple blogs about our new EP.. including this one in Japan blogging about our cd, while hes talking about the after shocks of the earthquakes.. http://blog.livedoor.jp/yoppermixture/archives/51691610.html (You have to use google translate if you want it in English). And now to top it off, Jarad Beckett, who found us on youtube last year decided to feature us on the first episode of his video blog “The New Music Report Card”…

Jarad and his friend Alan, take to the streets and show people our tune, and diddy’s tune “Coming Home” and had people choose what they’d prefer to hear on the radio.. We ended up winning which is wicked.

these guys are doing something important, they are attempting to prove people don’t necessarily like whats on the radio better than independent music.. They are just used to hearing it. If someone doesn’t get through to the record companies were gonna be listening to auto-tuned robots the rest of our lives. Lets do our part and support these boys!

Today were doing something different, were going to post a video from a fan! She uploaded it yesterday and after we read her comment we decided we’d re-post it for todays video! We met Liz when we opened for Stereo’s a few weeks ago.. and here’s the story behind her making the video.. as well as the video. Glad the “Live What You Love” idea is catchin on:

Hey guys, do to how many videos we missed posting on here, I am just going to post them all at once, because things got messed up…

To update you guys, we have been really busy spending every single night locked in matty’s basement.. writing, and jamming, and re-writing, and re working our newest songs to go into the studio. Instead of writing 3 songs and recording all of them we’ve been busy and we will be choosing the 3 best out of 5 new songs.

Lots of new material regardless, and I hope the fans are gonna connect with it.. Everyone has heard “Only Human” if they’ve seen us live in the past few months or watched us the youtube clips.. That song is getting recorded for sure:

Hey everyone.

Sorry for the lack of posts on the tumblr.. too many social networking sites too keep up with. Here is a cover of Steal my Sunshine by LEN! Me and Josh talked and decided it would be best if he re-did this cover, since the version we have up is ridiculous and i’ve wanted to take it down forever. It was the first video we ever shot, and I didn’t realize it would get 40,000 hits..or i wouldnt have been singing like a girl.. and playing random notes on guitar lol…

Thanks to everyone who came out to The Stereos show last night!! The guys running Beaverfest came to check us out and decided to put us on the bill. We will be playing June 4 with Default at the brand new ampitheatre on Windsor’s waterfront. We are stoked.

Hey guys,

Here is the cover I shot for High & Dry by Radiohead. It is one of my all time favorite songs, by a phenomenal band. I’ve always wanted to do this cover…but I had to wait for my skills to get to the point where I could do it some justice. I hope its at that point haha.

In case your wondering why there is a microphone in front of my face, and I used the camera audio… Turns out if you want the mic to record, you have to remember to push the “Record” button on your computer..Not my smoothest moment lol But the camera audio sounds decent. Hope you guys like it.
